L’intermarché

Founded in 1988, the banner L’intermarché has about 60 food stores in Quebec. These are small to medium-sized food markets, with an average surface area of approximately 10,000 square feet.

The banner prides itself on its service and freshness offering. Shopping at L’intermarché means being “in search of grocery products but above all, a wide variety of fresh quality products in terms of meat, fruits and vegetables, sausage and bakery and prepared meals,” says its website. Indeed, one can see that the supply of fresh products at L’intermarché is intended to be distinctive.

Of these stores, some 20 of them are referred to as “international”. Their urban location (Greater Montreal area), multicultural clientele and large variety of ethnic products (Italian, halal, kosher products) offer a world of international flavors to discover.

L’intermarché is renowned for its warm welcome and personalized service. In addition, customers save on a weekly basis through flyer discounts and various cut and frozen pricing programs, not to mention the wide variety of President’s Choice and No Name products.

Type of Franchise

Owners signing up with L’intermarché commit to order from Loblaw‘s warehouses for a specified period of time and to comply with the retail product pricing policy. In terms of categories of products such as tobacco, beer and wine, they deal directly with the suppliers.
