Description

The new DepConnek online grocery solution is tailor-made for all types of grocery stores, large and small, including convenience stores, independent and/or bannered grocery stores, craft beer stores and specialized food markets.

The DepConnek solution is comprised in a stand alone website dedicated to your store or linked with your existing store site. It allows your customers to order products online for curbside pickup (“click and collect”) or delivery if offered. Payment is then made in store or to the delivery person, with taxes charged over and above. Online payment by credit card or Paypal as well as the addition of taxes over and above products are not included in this package but can be added on demand at an extra cost.

Once the site is launched and online, customers can order your products at any moment, day or night. The retailer and its employees are notified of each new order by email or text message if desired. Once ready to be picked up, retailers only need to click a button on their cell or computer to notify their customers by email.

A template site to customize

To make this technology accessible to independent retailers, DepConnek has developed a model online grocery site that can be explored by clicking HERE. This highly functional website is then personalized to each store on an individual basis by incorporating its own distinctive elements (name, logo, photos, etc.) as well as its products and prices. It also includes a full range of functionalities to facilitate ecommerce (account creation, product catalog, wishlist, shopping cart, etc.) as well as to support sales (featured products, discount coupons and others).

So, rather than having to support the complete and complex development of such a site (estimated between $10,000 and $500,000 according to this article), DepConnek saves you time and money by simply adapting online grocery model designed for this purpose to your store (see depconnek.com). No need to reinvent the wheel every time!

The proposed package therefore includes the following:

  • Personalization of the DepConnek model to the client store (header, logo, home page, etc.);
  • Inclusion of 500 current products of your choice (beer and wine, confectionery, potato chips, etc.) with your prices and photos. If these are standard products, we provide product photos and if they are non-standard products (eg meals prepared on site), the client provides us with the photos;
  • Free allocation of a DepConnek domain name (ex: epiceriesoleil.depconnek.com). The customer store can however opt for a more catchy name (ex: epiceriesoleil.com) for a minimal extra cost (about $ 20 / year) ensuring that he owns the name;
  • Web hosting and full maintenance (security, optimization, backup and updates) for a period of three months;
  • Free access to a traffic monitoring site (JetPack) to measure performance in real time;
  • Basic training offered to the retailer and its employees so that they can access their site settings and know how to carry out essential operations (ex: add and remove products, adjust prices, manage orders, etc.).
The site is accessible on all platforms, including cell phones.

Once online, the site is optimized for all the usual internet platforms (computer, tablet and cell).

Package price: $595 all inclusive but offered at the special launch price of $395 for a very limited time.

For a site in both official languages (English / French), simply select the “Bilingual” option when purchasing the package, which adds an extra $350. In addition, a store wishing to integrate more products than the 500 included will be billed $2 per additional product unless we are talking hundreds or thousands of additional products, in which case a mega volume discount will be offered. There is no limit indeed to the number of products that can be included in the website!

End of package and continuation

The package ends three months after the site is online or launched to customers. To continue using the site, a very low $60 monthly fee is payable starting in the fourth month. This basic technical maintenance service includes the following:

  • Web hosting and server usage costs;
  • IT maintenance to ensure that the site is always online and rapid intervention in the event of a breakdown to restore it;
  • Regular backups to be able to put the website back online in the event of a problem and without any major loss of information;
  • IT security management and monitoring to prevent hacking and protect personal data;
  • Optimization of the site to minimize waiting and make it fast;
  • Updates to programs, software and extensions as new versions are deployed.

The customer store is free to cancel the service at any time and also to resume it later albeait with an additional charge to put back the site online. The following services are not included in the monthly maintenance fee of $60/month:

  • Support for content or design: change sections, add products, content (different packages or at reasonable hourly rates), add photos, develop the site, introduce new features, etc.
  • Marketing services: carry out promotions with coupons, highlight discounts, make special offers and organize email campaigns to your customers.
  • Tailor-made training for the client or its employees.

These tasks can be done by the client himself but assistance is available at an hourly rate of $55 on the basis of a pre-approved estimates or following the purchase a monthly plan that will reduce the hourly rate from 10% to 20% depending on the plan chosen.

The site remains the property of DepConnek at all times with the exception of the domain name if the customer has paid for it over and above.

The client also has the option of acquiring its site for $10,000, a sum increased by 10% each year. The acquisition of the site gives the customer all the rights to use it by himself, to host it elsewhere or to have it managed by someone else if desired.
