New Beau-soir Depanneur With Petro-Canada in Grand-Mère

Convenience stores paired with gas stations and restaurants are popular. Those that are also located near major highways, even more so.

This is the case with the new Beau-soir Petro-Canada gas station in Grand-Mère, which officially opened December 9, as reported by the Hebdo Saint-Maurice.

The new business is located closed to the McDonald’s restaurant near the ramp 226 of Autoroute 55 to the Grand-Mère sector.

Over the past three years, this is the fourth Petro-Canada facility to be opened in the Mauricie region. It was built in 16 weeks and required an investment of $ 2.1 million.

« We carried out a market study to find out how many vehicles pass, and it was strategically interesting, » explains owner Alain Lemay. Usually the Petro-Canada gas stations that are built are paired with a restaurant banner, but with the McDonald’s next door, it was profitable to have a diverse offer with a Beau-Soir convenience store. We appreciated the municipality’s contribution in helping to accelerate regulatory approvals. If all the municipalities were like that, we would do a lot of projects.  »

Petro-Canada’s Eastern Real Estate Development Director, Stéphane Alary, also mentioned the City of Shawinigan’s contribution to this project’s success.

The new convenience store is conveniently located on the main access road and is a stone’s throw from a McDonald’s restaurant.

For his part, Shawinigan Mayor Michel Angers pointed out that these seven jobs were important to the city and that it was a strategic place to establish trade there.
