Passing Of Jacques Beaudry, A True C-Store Visionary

The Quebec convenience store industry is in mourning with the passing a few days ago of Jacques Beaudry, President of Beaudry-Cadrin (owner of the Beau-Soir banner) and a well-known, loved and respected personality.

The President of the Board of the Quebec Convenience Stores Association (QCSA), Pascal Laporte, made the announcement this morning.

“It is with great sadness that I must announce the passing of Jacques Beaudry. Founding member of QCSA, Jacques is a pillar of our industry. He will have succeeded in having the business of “dépanneur” recognized as an industry in its own right. Thank you Jacques and rest in peace!” – Pascal Laporte

The QCSA paid him a heartfelt tribute last fall (see article here) but because of health problems, Jacques Beaudry could not attend.

He had, however, a speech delivered by Pascal Laporte which, knowing his sense of humour, ended like this:

“I do not wish you good evening (“bonsoir” in French), but Beau-Soir!”  – Jacques Beaudry

The family will receive condolences at the Funeral Complex des Trembles, 15005 Sherbrooke Street East, Pointe-Aux-Trembles, QC H1A 3X1.

The schedule is as follows:

– Friday, April 13 from 14h to 17h and from 18h to 21h;

– Saturday 14th April from 10h to 11h30.

On Saturday at 11:30 am, a funeral service for family and friends will be held at the chapel of the funeral complex.

And for those who would like to watch Jacques Beaudry’s tribute on video (in French only), here is it.

So long Jacques, we will miss you!
